These vignettes were from real patients and not hypothetical cases based on Rome criteria. Two vignettes were added describing patients with organic GI disorders. Constipation was the chief complaint in seven cases and abdominal pain in eight cases (see Supplementary Appendix online). These 20 vignettes were given to 10 board-certified or board-eligible pediatric gastroenterologists (five gastroenterologists with a special interest in FGIDs and five gastroenterologists with an interest in other GI conditions.
